OPEN PROGRAM SHORT COURSE FEE SUBSIDY

AFTRS will offer financial subsidies to Indigenous Australians, who meet specific selection criteria, to attend an AFTRS Industry Short Course (on the provision that there are available spaces).

 

AFTRS reserves the right to determine the amount of financial support on a case-by-case basis and to offer subsidies at its discretion. AFTRS can offer up to 85% of the full short course fee to attend an AFTRS Open Program short course, after an application has been made and approved.

 

Eligibility


To be eligible for assistance, applicants must address the following criteria:

 

  • Identify and be accepted by their community, as an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person.
  • Have relevant industry knowledge, experience and a commitment to using knowledge gained in the course in the future
  • Not be enrolled, as a full-time student at AFTRS
  • Apply for a subsidy 21 days before the course start date.

 

Conditions

  • AFTRS reserves the right to not accept applicants into its short courses.
  • AFTRS reserves the right to cancel short courses at short notice.
  • Subsidies offered for short courses are contingent on the short courses running.
  • The awarding of a fee subsidy is solely at the discretion of AFTRS. AFTRS will not provide any reasons pertaining to award or non award of a fee subsidy.
  • If a course is deemed full prior to an application being received AFTRS will be unable to process the fee subsidy application. AFTRS will advise the applicant of proposed future course dates that the applicant can reapply for subsidy to.
  • Up to two short course subsidy may be provided to any individual in any calendar year.
