ALLEN PALMER

Screenwriting Lecturer

 

Allen Palmer is an Australian screenwriter and story analyst who has worked in Hollywood and the UK. After graduating from UCLA Extension, he honed his understanding of story as a reader for the Sundance Institute in LA, and the Script Factory and Granada Film in London.

 

He was also a senior reader for the UK Film Council and was the comedy judge for their "25 words or less" film concept competition. His TV series Close Quarters was developed for the BBC and optioned by
Company Pictures (Shameless). He developed a feature animation for Dreamworks, adapted the novel Happiness for FilmFour, and his feature, Like me only rich, was optioned by Harbour Pictures (Calendar Girls). His romantic comedy, Her and Her Bloody Opera, has been optioned by Charles Hannah (The World's Fastest Indian) and was recently financed by a major US investor.
