EDWARD PRIMROSE
Screen Music Lecturer
Edward Primrose is a composer of orchestral, chamber and
electroacoustic works as well as music for opera, theatre, dance,
radio, video and film. Graduate of the Canberra School of Music
under Don Banks, and winner of the 1980 ASME Young Composer's
Award, he has been commissioned by the Canberra and Melbourne
Symphony Orchestras and the Seymour Group. Edward has taught
composition, in particular music for film, at a number of
universities. He was Composer in Residence at AFTRS in 1995-97 then
Lecturer in Screen Composition 1999-2000 and again since
2007.
He was the founding Artistic Director of Camera Camerata
(orchestral recording for film) with AYO in 1998. Edward is a
frequent orchestral recording conductor, recording with the MSO,
SSO and the Sonic Art Ensemble as well as many sync recordings for
film and TV. He is currently pursuing post graduate studies in
composition and music dramaturgy.
