ASTRA Graduate Program

Now in its third year, the ASTRA Graduate Program offers AFTRS Graduates from the Foundation Diploma exposure to the dynamic and growing industry of subscription TV (STV); a chance to experience roles in everything from production to marketing to programming. Participants will gain transferrable experience, build relationships and further develop career goals through a 13 week paid work contract with one of seven STV organisations:

Foxtel
Fox Sports Australia
BBC Worldwide Australia
Disney Channels
TVSN & Expo Channel
STUDIO & World Movies
Aurora Community Channel
and
TV1 & SF

In most cases the positions will commence February 2013 however this start-date may be flexible depending on the host organisation.   

ASTRA is the peak industry body for subscription television (STV) in Australia. The subscription TV industry is the undisputed market leader of digital broadcasting offering more than 200 channels (including HD and Plus2) broadcast on the Foxtel platforms and channel packages offered through Telstra T-Box and Xbox360. Received by 34% of Australians through their homes and over a million more through hotels, clubs and other entertainment and business venues, STV provides 24 hour news, sport and entertainment.
