Course OPEN DAY - September 20

For all those currently considering courses for 2009 - come along to Australia's national screen arts and broadcast school  to learn more and speak to a lecturer in the area you are interested in.

From 11:00 am to 3:00pm on Saturday September 20 AFTRS will be providing throughout the day :

 

  • Lecturers on hand to talk to face to face from the following teaching areas:

     Screenwriting
     Directing
     Producing
     Game Design
     Virtual worlds
     Animation Direction
     Sound
     Cinematography
     Production/Costume Design
     Editing
     Screen Music
     Research
 

  • Specific half hour sessions in Theatre 1 on the following :
    11:00 - 11:30
    My life as a short film - distribution TALK with Ruth Saunders

    11:30 - 12 midday
    Foundation Diploma Course Info session #1

    12 midday - 12:30 pm
    Game Design & Virtual Worlds Course Info Session

    12:30 pm - 1pm
    Foundation Diploma Course Info Session # 2

    1pm - 1:30pm
    Production Design & Costume Design Course Info Session

    1:30pm - 2pm
    Screenwriting Info Session

    2pm - 2:30 pm
    Sound  Course Info session

    2;30pmp - 3pm
    Foundation Diploma Course Info Session # 3

     
  • Our new state of the art, fully digital Radio studios will also be open for prospective radio students to check out - with Radio staff on hand to answer questions about studying Radio in 2009
     
  • AFTRS Library - home to the most comprehensive collection of training and research resources for the screen and broadcast industries - will also be open, so pop in and arrange for a Library tour.
     
  •  Student Services will be open to help with questions about the application process


In addition to the Course information sessions taking place and opportuntites to speak with AFTRS lectureres we also have a couple of 'hands on demonstrations of equipment' to amuse, including a green screen set up in Studio 3 and opportuntites to have a look at some of the School's fantastic faciltites including:

  • Our Sound recording studios
  • Mix theatre
  • LAMP lab (virtual worlds and game design)
  • Video Post Production 

AFTRS is NOW located at 130 Bent St, inside the Entertainment Quarter.

Public Vehicle and pedestrian entrance to the Entertainment Quarter is via the main entrance on Lang Rd.

The Entertainment Quarter is serviced by buses and Central railway station is a short bus ride away.
