The Digital Media Division at AFTRS teaches Computer Animation courses at the School and is home to advanced computer facilities for training and production ithat include: three professional film and television studios, state of the art digital video and audio suites, recording studios, post production suites and dedicated digital media labs.
Computer Animation resources available for student use include:
- Windows, Macintosh and Linux operating systems linked by a high speed network to large central file servers.
- over forty workstations that are used for interactive media, computer animation, visual effects and motion graphics design
- software programs that include Maya, the Adobe creative suite, Apple Shake, Apple Motion, Final Cut Pro and DVD Studio Pro, Macromedia Flash and Z Brush.

The Laboratory of Advanced Media Production (LAMP)
- Portable lab of iMac computers dedicated to rapid prototyping and production purposes.
- The travelling maclab computers are fully equipped with the full suite of interactive, graphics and editing software and are used for production in the areas of virtual worlds, machinima and advanced television.
