AFTRS Cinematography award courses are based on practical learning and application of the craft and skills of the medium in the context of a real production. Collaboration and cross-disciplinary practice are integral features of AFTRS award courses - ensuring students develop a deep understanding of how their specialist role fits into the production process.

“One of the most important things to me in my two years at AFTRS was in the relationships I made there”
Graduate, Jules O’Loughlin, Kokoda

“Through AFTRS I was well tutored in the art of cinematography and the nature of the film industry. With the interesting diversity amongst staff and students I learnt many life lessons that I still hold dear today.”
