AFTRS screen and broadcast training facilities include three professional film and television studios, state of the art digital video and audio suites, recording studios, post production suites and a cinematography general store.

Cinematography resources available for student use include:

  • 2 x Arri SR 3s *
  • 2 x Arri SR 2s *
  • 1 x Arri SR 1 *
  • 1 x Aaton
  • 1 x Bolex
    * All Super 16, with the exception of the Bolex

35mm Cameras

  • 1 x Arri  35 BL 4 *
  • 1 x Arri  35 BL 2
  • 1 x Arri  2c
    * Have 'Video Split' Capability

Video Cameras

  • 1 x Sony Digital Betacam
  • 4 x Sony DSR 570s
  • 4 x Sony DSR 170s
  • 4 x JVC (GY-HD 251E) HDs
  • 'Lipstick' Camera
  • We also carry 5 x Sony DV Monitor/Recorders, 16:9 monitors, a full range of heads and tripods, a large selection of filters and an extensive range of lenses and general accessories, that would meet most of the current industry requirements.
  • The grips' van is equipped with a comprehensive range of items including an Arlo dolley and tracks, plus associated arms and mounts; a Picollo Crane Arm; a Steadicam.
  • The gaffer truck carries an appropriate range of luminaries, stands and accessories

General Store

The Technical Store holds some video, lighting and sound equipment and associated consumables. It is open 8.45am-5.30pm. Bookings can be arranged through the Operations Centre.

Cinematographers' Camera Store

The camera store holds all film and digital cameras, lenses, filters, camera heads, tripods and any other related items for use with this equipment. The store and camera gear is maintained by the Camera Equipment Tutor.
