AFTRS is home to the best screen and broadcast training facilities in the country. The Radio division provides professional, digital, industry standard radio broadcasting resources and equipment representative of all sectors of the radio industry from commercial, ABC or community radio – the cross-section of systems and facilities available at AFTRS enable Radio students to acquire skills straight away.
Students enrolled in award courses produce several broadcasts each year, which are streamed on the Internet, heard throughout the AFTRS building and broadcast across some areas in Sydney.
In-demand AFTRS students are exposed to prospective employers via these broadcasts.

The Comrex STAC multiline phone system was used for the main on air studio with Comrex DH20 single line hybrids in each of the other three areas.
