NEXT FM - Listen online

How many people does it take to build a radio station from scratch? Eleven…apparently. That’s the ambitious statement made by AFTRS’ eleven radio industry rookies, who have created NEXT FM 100.7, the new player in the Sydney youth radio market.

On air from Saturday July 25 – Sunday August 9, NEXT FM is the student’s final broadcast before they fly the AFTRS coup and begin their careers in the professional radio industry.

The Graduate Diploma in Commercial Radio students are taking on Sydney radio giants 2Day FM and Nova, by playing the hottest new music on air and online.

“In the future the big radio stations will be our employers, but right now they are our competition. We’re going to give them heaps”, commented NEXT FM General Manager Stephanie Kirk.

The Graduate Diploma in Commercial Radio students have designed every facet of the station from music to management, content to commercials.

Their work will be showcased to the public and potential employers from the radio industry, who will be all ears during the broadcast in search of the NEXT generation of radio talent.

Hear the NEXT generation online now and on-air, 100.7FM from Sunday August 2.
