John Edwards, one of Australia's most prolific and successful television content creators, was awarded an honorary degree from the Australian Film Television and Radio School on Friday, December 9.

John was presented with the honorary degree at the 2011 AFTRS graduation ceremony by long time collaborator Claudia Karvan in front of an audience that included; the Minister for the Arts, The Hon. Simon Crean - who delivered the key note address - graduates, their families & friends, industry and AFTRS staff.

As the Honorary Degree recipient, John Edwards joins a select group of eminent Australian film and television practitioners including; Dr George Miller, Baz Luhrmann and Jan Chapman.

John Edwards was awarded the degree in recognition of his exceptional contribution to television over a career spanning 30 years.

John said on the day, "I'm so chuffed. This work is huge fun, and to be honoured for it, well, that's even better."
