AFTRS Head of Screenwriting, Ross Grayson Bell is heading north with industry heavyweights: Greg Haddrick, co-creator of Underbelly and producer of Cloudstreet; David Williamson Gallipoli and Year of Living Dangerously and Gillian ArmstrongMy Brilliant Career and Little Women.

The group will delve into the pitfalls and rewards of adapting literary works for the screen - both big and small - at the Byron Bay Writers Festival taking place on Saturday August 6 at 3:45pm in the Macquarie Marquee.

Ross will also be making an appearance at the Queer Fruits Film Festival in Lismore on August 10 (at the Lismore & District Workers Club) where he will present a one-off seminar that explores the six ways storytellers can engage audiences.

Two great  events for screenwriters in the northern rivers.

The Australian Film Television and Radio School would like to acknowledge the Traditional Owners, the Bidjigal people and Gadigal people of the Eora Nation, on whose land we meet, work, study and teach. We pay our respects to Elders past and present, and extend our respect to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people from all nations of this land.
