Earlier this year AFTRS signed up to a three-year partnership with the prestigious Tisch School of the Arts at New York University, and this month the first group of Tisch students landed down under to take part in one the subjects taught within the Foundation Diploma.

The first Tisch students participating in the exchange hail from the Maurice Kanbar Institute of Film and Television and have just spent the past three weeks in Sydney studying the 'Emotional Noise' subject in the Foundation Diploma as well as getting a taste of Australian culture, and from all accounts they have had a ball.

Catherine Gleeson, Head of Foundation Diploma said, "We are excited about sharing the Foundation Diploma experience with our New York visitors and it is a great opportunity for our students to work (and play) alongside their American peers and hopefully build professional networks for life."

There is a great synergy between AFTRS and New York University's Tisch School of the Arts - the premier centre for the study of performing and cinematic arts in the United States - and the School is looking forward to building greater creative and educational links with its American counterpart.

This is the first partnership, of this kind, that Tisch has undertaken in Australia and it is a big stamp of approval for the innovative and world class courses and training that AFTRS delivers.

The Australian Film Television and Radio School would like to acknowledge the Traditional Owners, the Bidjigal people and Gadigal people of the Eora Nation, on whose land we meet, work, study and teach. We pay our respects to Elders past and present, and extend our respect to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people from all nations of this land.
