On offer for the recent AFTRS grads who teamed up to create a pitch for the one80 project in the form of a pilot called Deadbeat Dads is a significant cash prize along with the opportunity to have their idea turned into an hour-long drama produced and aired on MTV Australia, Optus ZOO and mobile portals.

The enterprising crew comprised of:

  • Kent Pearson (Screenwriting)
  • Shelley McLaren (Screenwriting
  • Ben Mathews (Directing)
  • Josh Flavell (Cinematography)
  • Kavi Jarrott (Production Design)
  • Anil Griffin (Editing)
  • Damian Del Borrello (Sound)
  • Chad Gock (Screen Music)
  • Damian Smith (Cinematography)
  • Emma Paine (Cinematography)
  • Nicky Bartos (Foundation)

Ross Grayson Bell - Head of Screenwriting at AFTRS said this of the team and the pitch, "Deadbeat Dads is a story about what happens when a single mother passes away, and her children's three absent fathers move in together to raise the children as a family. Whether they win or not, this is a show that should be on TV!"

The winner will be announced on March 18. Can't wait ...
