In 2011 performance and video artist Angelica Mesiti was awarded one of two AFTRS Creative Fellowships to complete her multi channel video installation Citizens Band.

Melbourne is currently in the enviable position of having the results of Angelica's discipline-crossing, screen based work Citizens Band on show now as part of the NEW12 exhibition at the Australian Centre for Contemporary Art (ACCA).

Comprised of four large screens in the round - each featuring a sequential filmic portrait of an individual in a public place performing an unexpected form of music - the sound experience and imagery is deeply immersive and moving.

The AFTRS Creative Fellowship was created to enable creative practitioners the space, time and support to generate new and ground breaking projects and Angelica's work is testament to that vision.

New12 is on show at ACCA, Southbank until May 20.
