AFTRS alumnus: Craig Boreham (Directing) the writer/director of short film The Drowning, has won the NFSA Orlando Short Film Award. Presented by the National Film and Sound Archive, the award comprises of a cash prize of $5,000 and a place in the National Audiovisual Collection.

The Drowning is a story about friendship and the transition into adulthood and was funded by Screen Australia.

Fellow AFTRS alumni we spied in the credits of The Drowning include:

  • DOP: Bonnie Elliot (Cinematography) 
  • Editor: Adrian Rostirola (Editing)
  • Production & costume design: Tarnia Nicol (Design)
  • Art director: Inneke Smit (Design)

Craig is now in the final stages of financing his first feature film, Teenage Kicks which was inspired by The Drowning. We look forward to seeing the completed feature.
