Highly regarded film industry publication The Hollywood Reporter magazine has recently rebooted its bi-annual 'top international film school  list' and AFTRS has once again made the cut.
A couple of years ago The Hollywood Reporter approached AFTRS to provide information about the School's alumni, location & facilitates and the courses offered by us.

Around 12 or so months later the magazine published a list of the top 25 international film schools in the world, which was in August, 2012.

AFTRS appeared at number 20, in that 2012 list.  It was the only Australian film school to be included and infact the only Australian educational institution, of any kind, to make the list.

This year the The Hollywood Reporter compiled a list of the world's Top 15 international Film Schools and AFTRS has come in at position number 13 – a jump of seven places and again the only Australian educational institution of any kind to be included.

The reasons cited by The Hollywood Reporter for the inclusion of Australia's national film television and radio school was: the calibre of the alumni of the school – many of whom are working at the top of their respective fields both internationally and nationally; the strength of the courses AFTRS delivers in addition to the internationally renowned and coveted facilities and gear and this year they specifically mentioned alumnus Jane Campion (1983) and that the School has "produced some of cinema's greatest visionaries".
