Creative excellence rewarded ...

The fourth AACTA Award winners were announced over two days and two events recognising the work of screen practitioners working in the Australian screen arts industry across television, documentary, animation and feature film.

AFTRS is delighted that the following alumni picked up sparkly gold statues at the annual celebration of screen craft excellence:

 

  • Lynette Wallworth (the School's first Creative Fellow) won the AACTA AWARD FOR BEST DOCUMENTARY TELEVISION PROGRAM yesterday for 'Tender' (produced by Kath Shelper) which includes the work of alumni Karryn de Cinque (editor) and Liam Egan (sound editor)
  • BEST DIRECTION IN A TELEVISION LIGHT ENTERTAINMENT OR REALITY SERIES: Black Comedy Episode 3; Beck Cole and Craig Anderson for the ABC
  • AACTA AWARD FOR BEST SOUND IN TELEVISION: Anzac Girls Episode 6: Courage; Tom Heuzenroeder, Des Kenneally, Belinda Trimboli and Pete Best  for the ABC
  • AACTA AWARD FOR BEST SHORT FICTION FILM: Florence has Left the Buidling; Mirrah Foulkes and Alex White
  • BEST SOUND IN A DOCUMENTARY: Sons & Mothers; Des Kenneally, Will Sheridan, Pete Best and Scott Illingworth

  • BEST SOUND: The Rover; Sam Petty, Des Kenneally, Justine Angus, Brooke Trezise, Francis Ward Lindsay and Robert Mackenzie

  • BEST DIRECTION IN A TELEVISION DRAMA OR COMEDY: The Code; Shawn Seet [Episode 1]
