Student Film Success

Sep 2 2015

Sensational news from Toronto, Canada.

2014 AFTRS student film Deszcz (Rain) written and directed by Malina Mackiewicz has been selected for the Toronto International Film Festival Short Cuts program.

This will be the film's world premiere as it screens as part of 'Short Cuts Programme 3' - a selection of short films and "compelling stories of changing circumstances, transformative realisations and many other moments that turn lives upside down".

Congratulations to Malina and her fellow AFTRS Deszcz  cohort:

Writer/director: Malina Mackiewicz (Directing)
Producer: Milica Gligorevic (Producing)
Cinematographer: Benjamin Cotgrove (Cinematography)
Editor: Rolando Olalia (Editing)
Production Designer: Elsie Moult (Production Design)
Screen Music: Ellie Cumming (Screen Music)

Earlier this year Driftwood Dustmites also written and directed by Malina Mackiewicz; in 2014 during her time at the School had its premiere at Berlinale in Germany.

It is terrific to see these two productions received so well internationally.
