It’s an exciting time to be making drama

Fantastic news; AFTRS Screen Business alumna, Imogen Banks - who graduated last year with a Master of Screen Arts and Business has just signed a long-term deal to lead the new drama outfit, Endemol Shine Banks.

The co-creator of Offspring, Imogen has been working as a producer and writer in the Australian television industry for close to a decade and serving as the driving force behind some of Australia’s most successful dramas along with long-term collaborator John Edwards. Imogen was part of the creative team behind Tangle, Offspring, Paper Giants: The Birth of Cleo and Puberty Blues, Party Tricks, The Beautiful Lie and Gallipoli.

With seven nominations for AFI/AACTA awards, which included the win in 2013 for Best Television Drama Series for Puberty Blues Imogen is perfectly placed to take on this key role and in an interview with Michael Body for the Australian Imogen said, “It’s an exciting time to be making drama. I love what I do and am looking forward to creating new projects with my much valued, long-term collaborators, and developing an environment in which emerging writers and producers can thrive.”
