Sundance Lab

Jan 14 2016

The Sundance Institute recently announced that alumnus Tom McKeith, with fellow Australian writers Will Jaymes and Talia Zucker, has been selected for the 2016 Screenwriters Lab to be held at Robert Redford’s Sundance Resort in Utah for their feature film project In Vitro. 'The Lab' is one of 25 residency labs the Institute hosts each year for independent practitioners in theatre, film, new media and episodic content.

One of 12 projects selected from around the world, the In Vitro team will workshop their script with leading screenwriters during the five-day lab. A psychological sci-fi thriller, In Vitro tells the story of a young woman kept in isolation on a remote cattle ranch who discovers the disturbing truth about her existence. Tom is also attached to direct the project and is a follow on for Tom and Will whose feature debut, Beast was selected for Screen NSW’s premium feature film development program, AURORA. Beast had its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2015.

The fellows seelcted for Sundance Labs over the years include Quentin Tarantino (Reservoir Dogs), Darren Aronofsky (Requiem for a Dream), Damien Chazelle (Whiplash), Paul Thomas Anderson (Hard Eight), Lucy Alibar and Benh Zeitlin (Beasts of the Southern Wild), and Kimberly Peirce (Boys Don't Cry). Congratulations Tom, Will and Talia
