Vale Suresh Ayyar

Jan 15 2016

On Wednesday, January 13 AFTRS alumnus Suresh Ayyar, a much lauded and loved filmmaker, died peacefully at home after a long illness.

His features, drama series and documentary achievements are many and include: Gods of Wheat Street, Healing, The Dragon Pearl, Unfinished Sky, Romulus, My Father, Danny Deck Chair and Bad Boy Bubby to list only a few.

Involved with the ASE from its early days, Suresh worked with many in the industry and was nominated for nine AFI awards and the recipient of four. A sad loss of a great filmmaker.

There will be a memorial ceremony for Suresh on Sunday January 24 followed by a wake at his home in Vaucluse. The venue is The Vaucluse Bowling Club, 80-82 New South Head Rd, Vaucluse NSW 2030.

Our thoughts are with his family and friends.
