Take the next step.

The voice over artist has one the most exciting and diverse performance roles in Australian media. Voice artists are singers, sales people, educators and actors -- sometimes all in one day. It is a highly demanding field and competition is strong for those trying to crack the industry.

Advanced Voice Over is a two day course over two weekends, aimed to build on the skills developed in the AFTRS Open Voice Over course or for those with some experience with professional voice over work to further polish their skills.

A small group (maximum of 10) and focus on performance will allow for more on mic time to work on strengths and weaknesses. The course also provides opportunity to identify an area of specialization during practical sessions.

At the end of the course you will receive a number of work parts that could form the basis of a demo tape.

Advanced Voice Over offers:

  • Opportunity to build on skills developed in weekend Voice Over course
  • Smaller groups to allow for more time on mic
  • Group work in which to learn and share from other’s experience
  • More one on one time with lecturer for feedback and to discuss progress
  • Further opportunity for guidance regarding entering the voice over industry
  • Tuition in a professional audio studio, not a classroom
  • Audio copies of your work to take away as a basis for your demo

Please note: a fully finished demo will not be provided at the end of this course. However, a compilation of your best work will be provided to form the basis for a demo tape to be produced elsewhere.

Topic areas:

  • Commercial scripts for radio and TV
  • Narrative and corporate scripts
  • Jingle singing
  • Radio/TV imaging
  • Developing characters
