Satellite, digital and online are transforming the industry but radio still remains one of the most accessible forms of technology on earth, with over 44,000 radio stations globally.

With Apple surpassing 1.6 billion subscriptions and 20 billion downloads, across 250,000 podcasts via its iTunes app, the market for radio and voice over talent is growing every year.

On air radio industry professionals Rachel Corbett (Triple M, 2Day FM, The Project, The Verdict, ABC2's The Roast) and Martin Corben (Former Content Director at 702 ABC Sydney & ABC North Coast) are the tutors for this practical and inspiring course where students will acquire invaluable skills and knowledge that will enhance and advance their careers.

Using AFTRS' state of the art radio facilities and through a series of lectures and practical exercises participants will have the opportunity to refine:
  • Live presentation skills
  • Announcing and script reading
  • Skills pertaining to selecting and preparing radio content
  • Voice skills
  • An awareness of the use of professional on air studio equipment and operation
  • A more detailed understanding and perspective of broadcast law

Each participant will select and develop content to create a radio program, go live to air, and they will be provided with individual expert feedback from Rachel.
