Hands on learning in the classroom, pool  & ocean!

The Underwater Cinematographer is required in every area of film & television production, and in Australia they are in especially high demand. Expand your CV and begin your new career in underwater cinematography with this one of a kind four day course led by industry veteran Jon Shaw (ACS Full Member) who will guide the students through the best, most efficient and safest way to master the art of shooting underwater.

In the classroom, pool and with two ocean dive days Jon will show the class how filming in the water is completely different to everything you know about cinematography.

The class will get a comprehensive understanding of the varied consumer, pro-sumer and professional cameras (including Go Pro and RED Scarlet X) that are commonly used on underwater projects. Students will then dive with the very same cameras and get expert tuition on the unique challenges the underwater camera operator faces in terms of planning, lighting, framing, focus, colour temperature, shooting techniques, filters, composition & placement, and the underwater shots that are guaranteed to sell.

This course is designed for students with some previous shooting experience who must:

- Hold a valid PADI Advanced Open Water Certification with a minimum of ten (10) dives
- Hold a current & valid dive medical
