Whether you’re agency-based or in-house, running a start-up or trying to catch up, marketers, account managers and producers are more and more expected to understand the wider marketing opportunities in the digital landscape. This five-day intensive led by Executive Producer Lynette Reeves (The Project Factory) will use classroom lectures and real world practical team exercises to give you the inside scoop on the digital landscape, unravel the technical jargon, and show how Digital Producers work with wider teams to create digital websites, social media, mobile applications and interactive media. Don’t get left behind!

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN

The role of a Digital Producer can vary dramatically depending on the area in which you are working: web, mobile, apps, digital display, video, EDMs, interactive media, augmented reality & VR, social media, SEO/SEM... the list goes on.

This course will cover:


•The digital landscape in context and why you’ve made the right choice to learn more about it
•The general roles and responsibilities of a Digital Producer, and what we do all day that can translate to other roles
•Getting creative: problem solving, innovation, strategy and abstract thinking
•Project phases, team players, and the Digital Producer's role in bringing them together: Discovery, Definition, Design, Development and Deployment
•Getting technical: understanding the lingo and becoming a translator
•Tools of the trade: prototyping, project management, team management
•Digital Production methodologies: waterfall, agile and scrum

With a mix of lectures and group-work, this course will take you on a journey through the digital minefield, giving you the opportunity to take that knowledge and apply it to your existing role.

Extend your digital knowledge, or change career directions - this includes film and TV producers, designers, developers, marketing and communications staff, digital project managers, account managers - anyone looking to get a grasp on the digital landscape in 2017, and beyond. This course will give you the basic knowledge in all areas of digital, giving you scope to pursue your specific interests in more in-depth courses,

Please note that although this course will cover effectiveness and distribution of content through digital channels (such as video), this is not a content production course. If you are interested in practical technical videomaking courses see Videomaking 101​ . LEVEL OF EXPERIENCE

This course is open to anyone who has some media, project management, communications or marketing experience.

WORKLOAD

A very intensive five-day course where you will have some light homework to do in the evenings, so please set aside some time each evening if possible.

ABOUT THE TUTOR: LYNETTE REEVES

Lynette Reeves is Executive Producer for The Project Factory in Sydney, Australia. A digital producer with over 10 years in the digital environment, with experience across multiple business sectors and working with $5k to $500k+ budgets across websites, responsive sites, apps, digital advertising campaigns, SEO/SEM, CRM, targeted marketing email campaigns, and social media.

Lynette works on a mobile-first philosophy and her personal mission is to help educate and inform others on the importance of a changing digital environment and how that should drive strategy and creativity.
