AFTRS is in the process of creating a new schools program so more teachers and students can access our resources across the country.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT FOR TEACHERS

There are a number of relevant AFTRS’ courses that primary and secondary teachers around the country can undertake for professional development purposes.

For NSW teachers, several AFTRS’ courses have been accredited by the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA), including Teaching Filmmaking, Intro to Premiere Pro, Mobile Content Creation: Online and Mobile Content Creation: On Campus.

Please note that, with the exception of Teaching Filmmaking, AFTRS’s courses are open to a wide range of participants.

ONLINE CURRICULUM-LINKED RESOURCES

AFTRS will soon launch an online curriculum-linked program including educational tools and assets available for teachers to use from January 2018. The online nationwide resource will support a variety of subjects including Media Arts under the Australian Curriculum.

STUDENT EXCURSIONS

AFTRS offers a quarterly Student Excursion program, where secondary students can attend a full day screen studies program presented by recognised industry experts. Content will change from term to term.

In Term 4 2017 the following Student Excursion is available:

Making Music for the Screen
Friday 8 December, 9.30am – 2.45pm
For Stage 5 & Stage 6 students
$30 per student

SCHOOL HOLIDAYS

AFTRS continues to offer our popular school holiday programs for children aged 9-17 years featuring courses from The Real Filmmaking Workshop to HSC Video Intensive to Kids Digi and Make a Stop Motion.
