Cody Jarrett

Subject Leader, Screen Business

Cody has gained both industry and teaching experience since completing a BA in Communications at Macquarie University and an MA in Film, Television and Theatre Studies from the University of New South Wales. She’s also done short courses with some of the world’s leading script consultants.

From working as an actor, presenter and voice-over artist, through to being a researcher, screenwriter, producer, and director, Cody has drawn on her practical experience to inform her teaching practice at Queensland University of Technology. She was a unit coordinator, lecturer, tutor, and curriculum designer in project development, screen business, producing, narrative production and screenwriting there for several years.

Working across platforms and genres, Cody’s credits include Neighbours, Australia’s Most Wanted and Better Homes and Gardens; documentaries for Foxtel on women’s and social issues; and feature film and short form content development. She’s adapted a novel to a feature film treatment, ghostwritten marketing books, and created online content for businesses. Awards have included two Logies, a Silver ASC for a story she directed, and the World Food Media Award for The Best TV Food Segment in the world. Currently, Cody is involved as a trans-media consultant on the award winning web series Scout, and continues to revise a film noir screenplay she wrote that has been optioned by Ozpix Entertainment.
