Friday  May 17: Seph McKenna - an insiders take on acquisitions and what works at the Australian Box Office

Seph McKenna, is the Head of Australian Production at Roadshow Films, one of largest distribution companies locally and aligned to the most extensive cinema exhibition circuit in Australia. Prior to joining Roadshow,Seph worked at Village Roadshow Pictures (VRP) in Los Angeles where his focus was on script development and assessment.

For the past seven years, Seph has worked increasingly closely with writers, producers, and directors on films including Beautiful Kate; Mao's Last Dancer; Red Dog; The Cup; Goddess, Wolf Creek II, Kath and Kimderella, to name a few. He has lived through box office disappointments and has celebrated phenomenal successes.

Seph will discuss the acquisitions mindset and provide an insider's take on what he thinks works, what doesn't and why in Australian cinemas.
