CATE SHORTLAND'S LORE BOUND FOR THE US

AFTRS alumnus Cate Shortland (Graduate Diploma Directing, 2000) has just seen her latest feature, Lore, set in the aftermath of WWII Germany, sold to the US.


Written by Cate Shortland and Robin Mukherjee Lore has been picked up by Music Box through French-based international sales agent Memento Films.


An Australian/German/UK co-pro the feature is an adaptation of Rachel Seiffert's The Dark Room a story of a young German girl who must get her four younger siblings to her grandmother on the other side of the country after her Nazi parents are arrested by Allied Forces.


Internationally, the film has also sold into Brazil, South Korea, Isreal and Colombia and will be distributed locally by Transmission Films. Liz Watts the film's producer said: "Lore has had very nice pre-sales. We'll be going into full swing at Cannes Market."
