2021 POSTGRADUATE COURSES

AFTRS has a long and successful history of postgraduate study. The school was established to provide high-level training to creative practitioners and the calibre of our programs has resulted in AFTRS being consistently named among the top 15 film schools in the world by The Hollywood Reporter, the only Australian education institution to make this prestigious list. AFTRS works closely with industry to ensure its courses are relevant, innovative and future-focused. Postgraduate coursework is informed by industry leaders and delivered to students, who will, in turn, become industry leaders themselves. MASTER OF ARTS SCREEN

10 DISCIPLINES

The Master of Arts Screen is a full-time course over two years, designed to fast-track future industry leaders into Head of Department positions. Through an intensive cycle of hands-on workshops, you will gain high-level specialist skills in your discipline. You will apply theoretical ideas to cross-disciplinary exercises, developing a dynamic and multi-faceted skill-set.

Available in ten disciplines, the course culminates in the creation of a major screen project, funded by the school and supported by our world-leading facilities and staff.

MASTER OF ARTS SCREEN: BUSINESS

The Master of Arts Screen: Business is a transformational program designed for mid-career professionals from the screen media sector. It aspires to develop graduates who are visionary, highly skilled leaders and entrepreneurs able to enrich Australian culture, expand and grow the Australian screen media economy, build businesses and/or achieve high-level, sustainable careers in the dynamic, fast-moving, global screen media landscape.

FULL-TIME AND PART-TIME

A hands-on, highly practical course for tomorrow’s on-air and behind-the-scenes broadcasters. Realise your potential to create and deliver compelling, innovative content for radio and digital platforms. Learn in state of the art digital studios, build key contacts and work alongside industry professionals. Emerge with highly sought after, advanced broadcasting skills and a network of industry contacts. This course produces creative radio professionals capable of contributing to and shaping the broadcast industry. The course is delivered in a supportive and challenging learning environment which will prepare professionals for, and sustain them in, their future roles in the radio and multiplatform broadcasting industries. Graduates are qualified to work in commercial or public radio.
