Explore the role of a Sound Recordist

This two-day course is designed for people who wish to learn the latest sound recording techniques used in capturing speech and sound effects using portable recording equipment. “The most important thing students must learn is 90% of film is sound. The picture is far less important.” – Walter Murch

Learn about sound propagation and capture, microphones and mixers, analogue and digital signal paths

Be exposed to techniques for dealing with different recording environments

Learn to set up and operate portable sound recording equipment commonly used in film and television production

This course is suitable for individuals who are currently working in the film and television industry as well as others seeking employment in the industry.  Learning to record quality sound is a key skill for any filmmaker.

This course is for students aged 18+ only.

If an attendee wishes to withdraw from a course, they may do so up to 15 days before the course commences and get a full refund. Cancellations 14 days or less before course commencement will incur a fee.
