This one day intensive, held at Holding Redlich in Melbourne, presented in conjunction with SPA (Screen Producers Australia), is all about setting up and building a Screen Business. The workshop covers the commercial framework in which producers must operate, including issues surrounding the operation of a creative business from the ground up.

The Business Essentials program is vital for startups while also serving as a refresher for established businesses and producers. The main course convenor is Owen Johnston who has worked for Screen Producers Australia for over a decade in both policy and industrial relations. Owen has produced feature films, documentaries, television drama, and commercials and is a former Director of Film Development and Marketing at the Australian Film Commission.
The course will feature a range of Industry expert speakers including Jenny Lalor (Lalor Law), Patrick May and Shana Levine (Screen Australia), Cathy Rodda (Film Victoria) and Producer David Redman (Instinct Entertainment).
