Is Introduction to the Production Office right for you?

The course, consisting of approximately 7 hours learning commitment, is delivered online over 4 weeks. It includes student exercises, video, downloads, and concludes with a scheduled virtual Q&A providing you with the opportunity to speak directly with one of our highly experienced guest Producers.

A great course for those who have a flair for organisation or project management and want to understand more about how it works in screen production, or those already working in the screen industry who have not had an opportunity to experience production on a live-action project.

No previous experience is required. Some understanding of filmmaking terminology and procedures would be beneficial.

This course is open to students aged 16 years and over. Students under 18 must complete an Under 18 Consent Form.

What you will need

You will need:

  • Internet with good bandwidth
  • Internet-connected laptop, desktop computer, tablet, or device
  • Internet browser, preferably Google Chrome or Firefox

You will be provided with:

  • A student login for access to the AFTRS learning platform
  • Access to a student chat forum

Asynchronous Learning
Coursework delivered asynchronously allows you to work through the course materials and exercises independently and at your own pace. Coursework is made up of instructional audio/visual material and includes written and image-based documentation, links, and downloads.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

If a student wishes to withdraw from a course, they may do so up to 15 days before the course commences and get a full refund. Cancellations 14 days or less before course commencement will incur a penalty.

AFTRS reserves the right to cancel any course for any reason at any time. In the event of a course being cancelled by AFTRS prior to commencement a 100% refund or credit note of the course fees paid will be provided.

Should AFTRS need to cancel a course after commencement, but before its completion, reasonable efforts will be made to reschedule. If rescheduling is not feasible, it is at AFTRS sole discretion to issue either full or partial credit notes depending on the circumstances.

AFTRS will make every effort to ensure the scheduled run of any course.

If you are planning to travel to attend a course, please confirm with AFTRS that the course is confirmed before you make your travel bookings. This decision is dependent on course enrolments meeting minimum numbers. AFTRS is not liable for any travel or accommodation costs incurred through course cancellation at any time for any reason.
