Become a Voice Over Artist

Just having a great voice is not enough – you need the skills to be able to use it properly.  Be guided through numerous practical exercises, in AFTRS state-of-the-art radio studios, designed to give you the techniques to get the best out of your voice and to get a start in the voice over industry.

Learn vocal techniques

Use correct vocal and microphone techniques, mark up a standard commercial script and rework a script to accommodate changes

Interpret and deliver reads

Interpret and deliver a variety of commercial scripts, within an allotted time

Incorporate producer feedback

Get an overview of industry requirements for voice over artists, and how to accept and incorporating direction from a studio producer

Is Voice Over Fundamentals right for you?

Estimated to be a $12.3 billion industry worldwide, voice over is one of the most exciting and competitive fields within the radio and TV industry. If you’re looking to get a start in the voice over industry then this is the course for you.

To get the most from this course you will preferably have some on-air experience in either radio or TV or an acting/performance background. But if you are a confident beginner, you’ll be ok too.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

This course is for students aged 18+ only.

If a student wishes to withdraw from a course, they may do so up to 15 days before the course commences and get a full refund. Cancellations 14 days or less before course commencement will incur a penalty.

AFTRS reserves the right to cancel any course for any reason at any time. In the event of a course being cancelled by AFTRS prior to commencement a 100% refund or credit note of the course fees paid will be provided.

Should AFTRS need to cancel a course after commencement, but before its completion, reasonable efforts will be made to reschedule. If rescheduling is not feasible, it is at AFTRS sole discretion to issue either full or partial credit notes depending on the circumstances.

AFTRS will make every effort to ensure the scheduled run of any course.

If you are planning to travel to attend a course, please confirm with AFTRS that the course is confirmed before you make your travel bookings. This decision is dependent on course enrolments meeting minimum numbers. AFTRS is not liable for any travel or accommodation costs incurred through course cancellation at any time for any reason.
