Steve McDonald

An audio engineer since 2005, Steve McDonald has been working as a Live Sound Engineer for bands around Sydney and a Location Sound Recordist since 2006. Graduating from AFTRS in 2007, he has worked on a diverse range of productions as sound recordist and boom operator including Feature Films (including Australia),Television Drama (including Packed to the Rafters and Police Rescue Special Operations), Television Commercials (including Sam Kekovich – Australia Day Lamb Campaign and GetUp! Campaigns), Documentaries (including Big Name No Blanket The Story of George Rrurrambu, Persons of Interest and US Cable-TV Series Bizarre Foods), Video Clips (for Hilltop Hoods and Melissa Tkautz), EPK / Behind-The-Scenes (for Australia and Great Gatsby), as well as a multitude of short films and a broad range of corporate / online content.

Since 2010, Steve has taken on the exciting opportunity of teaching sound to music and film students at many institutions including AFTRS, TAFE NSW (Ultimo, St Leonards and Randwick Campuses), International Film School Sydney, School of Audio Engineering and Metro Screen. He has a passion for sound, music and the film industry and a particular skill for passing these skills on to those interested in a career in these fields.
