Alexa has worked as a story liner, script editor, script writer and script producer on series including Janet King, Rescue Special Ops, All Saints, McLeod’s Daughters (on all 8 series from co-writing the bible to writing episode 224, the finale of the series), Water Rats, Police Rescue, E Street, Heartbreak High, Big Sky, Home and Away, and Neighbours. She has also worked extensively in children’s drama including all 3 series of Mako Mermaids as a script writer and script editor, both series of The Bureau of Magical Things as a scriptwriter and story consultant, 100% Wolf, Horace and Tina, Outriders and numerous other children’s series and features for the international market as a story consultant. She has also worked as a documentary script writer for Foxtel’s History Channel, developed numerous TV drama series for producers and television networks in Australia and New Zealand, received funding for a children’s television drama and a sitcom from Create NSW and for a feature film screenplay from Screen Australia. Currently she is working on adapting a book into an 8 part drama series to be directed by Rachel Ward, writing the pilot episode and bible, also funded by Screen Australia. Playmaker Media have optioned a series she created.

She is the recipient of a Distinctly Australian Script Editing Fellowship, working on attachment with London production companies Red Rooster Films and Portman Productions. She has also worked as a script editor on numerous feature film projects, as a script assessor for government bodies including Screen Tasmania, the South Australian Film Corporation and the Australian Writer’s Guild. She is also a playwright with productions at the Adelaide Fringe Festival, the Stables Theatre, Sydney, Melbourne Writer’s Festival, Bridewell Theatre, London and her one woman play The Look will be produced this year by the Northern Lights Theatre Company, Edmonton, Canada. She has taught scriptwriting and editing classes for AFTRS, Screenworks and the Australian Writer’s Guild and is a passionate and committed mentor to emerging screenwriters.
