Jan has over twenty years of experience in production management, large scale events, theatre and film.
His career is varied. During the nineties, he was a professional musician with a number of prominent bands and toured widely. His initial introduction to film was by way of set construction, standby props and production assistant on a Stephan Elliot production.
From film he moved into event management where some of his clients included John Laws, Foxtel, Hermes and Mardi Gras. He undertook site management for such large-scale events as Sydney Festival and City of Sydney’s New Year’s Eve celebrations.
He spent many years at Belvoir Street Theatre where apart from supporting almost fifty productions, also helped to carry the company through some of its most tumultuous times of change and growth. His role at Belvoir incorporated set construction and staging, facilities management and IT.
Jan’s passion to unite the film world with education is new, but his ability to move teams towards a shared goal has been honed over a lifetime.
