After graduating from the National Institute of Dramatic Art in 2008, Travis Cardona worked as an actor in theatre, film and television before taking a position at SBS as Indigenous Policy & Stakeholder Relations Advisor in 2013. In this advisory role he worked closely with the Indigenous media sector across Australia and the World Indigenous Television Broadcasting Network. Travis also coordinated Media Reconciliation Industry Networking Group in his first year at SBS.
Being a creative at heart and wanting to be more hands on with content creation Travis pursued an opportunity to work as an Associate Producer with NITV’s Internal Production Team where he worked on various productions including Going Places with Ernie Dingo.
Always having a close eye on social media and current digital trends Travis moved into NITV’s Online Team where for the past year he has been working as a Digital Producer, including a brief stint back in front of the camera, appearing on NITV’s current affairs show The Point, reporting on social media.
In his spare time, Travis and his wife enjoy going camping with their dog (Heidi Bear) who is a wrinkly shar pei.
