Annette Davey

Bachelor of Arts (Film & Television) Editing, 1990

Based between LA & New York, Adelaide’s Annette Davey has worked in both television and film around the world.

Since relocating to the US after winning the QANTAS prize at her AFTRS graduation, Annette’s career has flourished. Feature film credits include Adrienne Shelly’s beloved indie rom-com Waitress; Together Together, Pretty Bird, St John of Las Vegas, Lady of the Manor, Swinging Safari, and Poms starring Diane Keaton, Pam Grier and Jackie Weaver.

Annette recently completed limited HULU series Pam & Tommy starring lily James, Sebastian Stan and Seth Rogen. She also brought to life acclaimed Netflix series Maid, based on the NY times bestseller by Stephanie Land.

Her wide array of television credits include Battlestar Galactica, Hung, Transparent, Better Things, Glow, Girlboss, Get Shorty, Why Women Kill, Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist and more. Annette was a consulting editor for recent UK/Australian co production, The End – a 10 part limited Showtime series produced by SeeSaw films, Foxtel & Sky Atlantic, featuring an impressive cast including Frances O’Connor, Harriet Walter, Noni Hazlehurst, Robyn Nevin, John Waters, Alex Dimitriades, Brooke Satchwell and Brendan Cowell.

Her latest projects include feature length music biopic Dreamin’ Wild – which premiered at Venice Film Festival and stars Casey Affleck, Zooey Deschanel and Beau Bridges; and The Estate, directed by Dean Craig (writer of Death At A Funeral) starring Toni Colette, Anna Farris, David Duchovny, and Kathleen Turner.

 

AFTRS HIGHLIGHT

Winning the QANTAS award which enabled me to go to Los Angeles and begin a career there. Another highlight is the people I met whilst at AFTRS, I still keep in touch with many of them and we are all deeply supportive of each other.

CAREER HIGHLIGHT

Recent highlights include Pam & Tommy, Maid and feature film Dreamin’ Wild, which premiered at the Venice Film Festival.
