Why study Filmmaking at AFTRS

Filmmaking is the art of cinematic storytelling. It’s a visual expression of the ideas, values and beliefs of the culture within which, and for which it is made – and the ultimate collaborative artistic pursuit. As the nation’s premier film school, our very purpose is to empower storytellers to bring their unique stories to the screen. To achieve this, we offer filmmaking courses for people of all levels of experience, including Postgraduate, Undergraduate, Industry Certificates, Industry Short Courses and Introductory Short Courses.
