A broadcaster, program producer, podcaster and writer, Caroline Tran started her career on the reception desk at Sydney’s 2SM after graduating from AFTRS. She subsequently joined the ABC’s national youth channel Triple J in 1999, and has hosted shows such as Super Request, Lunch and Home and Hosed, devoted to Australian music.
Caroline has also hosted programs on ABC Radio Melbourne, Radio Australia and Radio National and, since 2014, has hosted weekly programs on ABC Digital’s Double J.
Caroline produced and presented the podcast Don’t Look Back—conversations with artists about the song that changed their life—and she currently presents The J Files and Double J’s Classic Album of the Week.
AFTRS HIGHLIGHT
I have fond memories of putting on our outside radio broadcast at the Easter Show. As a young radio wannabe, it was very special to be part of that excitement; speaking to punters and guests and getting a real feel for what putting on an event and making radio was about.
CAREER HIGHLIGHT
It’s really impossible to pinpoint one moment in a career at the ABC, Triple J and Double J that’s allowed me to work alongside (and meet and interview) so many incredible people. Being part of the small, dedicated bunch of passionate music lovers that generates such amazing content on Double J every day is a great joy and privilege.
