AFTRS CLASS OF 2017 ON AIR FOR THEIR FINAL BROADCAST NEXT

NEXT has been designed from the ground up by the AFTRS Graduate Diploma in Radio students as their final broadcast assignment of the year.

The class has worked with more than 50 industry specialists throughout the year to learn everything they need to know to be job ready.

NEXT is a showcase of their talents and the format has been conceived following a blue sky session with industry format legend Cherie Romaro, and a thorough examination of the data to identify a gap in the Sydney market with Ann-Maree Nolan from ratings company GFK.

AFTRS Radio Program Leader Lisa Sweeney says the students are already attracting a lot of interest from potential employers.

“The entire class of 2017 has already been out in industry interning throughout the year and there’s tremendous interest in this final broadcast from industry greats who are hungry for our talent.”

“There is no doubt that all students will be in great jobs very quickly.”

NEXT is a contemporary talkback music station aimed at 18 to 24 year-old Australians, with a secondary audience of 15 to 29 year-olds. It aims to bridge the gap between mainstream and alternative music.

The station’s branding values promise that NEXT will be Daring, Upbeat, Vibrant, On Your Level, Passionate and About the Best Music.

Tune in and listen to NEXT.
