AFTRS has today announced the four recipients of the 2018 AFTRS Graduate Program, an industry partnership between AFTRS, Australia’s leading screen and broadcast school, and Discovery, Foxtel, Sky News and TVSN Networks.

The program has been established to support and foster emerging talent within Subscription Television (STV) by providing selected graduates of AFTRS 2018 Bachelor of Arts Screen program with a 13-week paid internship in each of these organisations.

Rachel Mackey will join Discovery, Nicola Macindoe will join Foxtel, Daniel White will join TVSN and Elijah McKeogh will join Sky News.

Nell Greenwood, Director of Curriculum and Student Registrar, AFTRS said: “AFTRS is pleased to collaborate with Discovery, Foxtel, TVSN and Sky News on this exciting program to provide some of its most creative, skilled and motivated students with the experience of working in the dynamic industry of Subscription Television.

Ashley Gilbert, Graduate Program and Communications Manager, Content Services at Foxtel, said: “Foxtel is excited to once again be involved in this competitive and rewarding program. Each year we look forward to the opportunity of welcoming these talented AFTRS graduates into the industry they are so passionate about. We have had continued success through the program each year with the successful applicants becoming fantastic additions to the Foxtel talent pipeline.

The AFTRS graduates will take up their internships with the specified network between November 2018 and April 2019. During their internship they will experience a range of roles, from development, production to marketing and programming, providing them transferrable work experience and the opportunity to build industry relationships.
