Feature Film by AFTRS Alumni to Premiere at 53rd Karlovy Vary International Film Festival

A black and white still featuring a clown and a young man.

Congratulations to AFTRS alumni director Luke Sullivan (Foundation Diploma, 2013; Graduate Certificate in Directing, 2014) and producer Giovanni De Santolo (Foundation Diploma 2013; Bachelor of Arts Screen: Production, 2017) whose feature film Reflection in the Dust will be having its world premiere at the prestigious 53rd Karlovy Vary International Film Festival in the Czech Republic this year.

Eluding genre categorization, Reflection in the Dust blends factual interviews with an ageing clown and blind girl with an ominous post-apocalyptic fiction in which they play a father and daughter struggling to survive on the fringes of a broken world.

Reflection in the Dust will premiere in the ‘Imagina’ section of the festival, reserved for films from around the world with distinctive and radical visions of film language.

The 53rd Karlovy Vary International Film Festival runs from 29 June – 7 July 2018, in Karlovy Vary, Czech Republic. The Backlot Films has acquired the film for a national cinema release this October.
