AFTRS Alumni have been nominated in various categories at this year’s Australian Production Design Guild Awards.
Each year the awards celebrate some of Australia’s top talent in production design, and this year’s nominations recognise the work of AFTRS alumni on various productions – including major releases Ladies in Black, I Am Mother, Tidelands, Storm Boy, Black Mirror and more.
Among the nominated works is AFTRS Masters short Sweet Tooth directed by Shannon Ashlyn (Master of Arts Screen, 2018) and featuring the work of 2018 MA grad, Emma Bourke who is nominated in the Emerging Designer for Screen category.
In the Feature Film category, nominations have gone out to Felicity Abbott APDG (Master of Arts – Film & Television [Hons] Design, 1998) for her work on Ladies in Black and Melinda Doring (Master of Arts – Film & Television [Hons] Design, 1998) for her work on Storm Boy.
Alumnus Bowen Ellames (Graduate Certificate in Directing Fundamentals, 2014) has secured two nominations in the Concept Design Visualisation category – one for his work on Tidelands and one for I Am Mother.
Congratulations to the incredibly-talented alumni who have received nominations for this year’s awards.
Hosted by MC Adam Eliot, the awards will be held on 1 December at The Melba Spiegeltent in Collingwood, Melbourne.
