Sydney Film Festival is just around the corner, and the bumper 2019 program has been unleashed (featuring plenty of works by AFTRS Alumni). This year, the reveal was celebrated with the inaugural Launch Show, which was shot in our state-of-the-art studios.
The concept was that of AFTRS alumnus William Suen (Graduate Certificate in Directing Fundamentals, 2016), who also directed and edited the piece, and his vision was brought to life by fellow alumni producer Shiyan Zheng (Graduate Certificate: Directing, 2010), cinematographer Ben Powell (Advanced Diploma in Cinematography Essentials, 2016), 1st AC Brendan Blacklock (Advanced Diploma in Cine Essentials, 2016), gaffer Lucca Barone-Peters (Bachelor of Arts –Screen, 2017) and sound recordist Martin Demian (Graduate Diploma in Sound, 2012).
Hosted by celeb YouTuber Natalie Tran, this is a neat little showpiece of our facilities, staff and students, whose names you’ll see in the credits.
