Jacinta Tynan

Jacinta Tynan is a journalist, former news presenter, columnist, author and life coach.

She is one of Australia’s most experienced journalists and TV news presenters with some thirty years reporting and presenting in Australia and overseas, most recently as an anchor with Sky News Australia. As well as presenting live, rolling news, Jacinta produced and hosted ‘Change Makers’, interviewing people and organisations making a positive difference in the world. Prior to joining Sky News, Jacinta was a presenter and reporter at ABC, anchoring ABC TV’s international satellite news service, ABC Asia Pacific and the national Late News, and reporting for the 7:30 Report and national news. She has also made regular guest appearances on programs including The Today Show and Sunrise.

Jacinta writes a regular column for Body+Soul magazine  on spirituality (distributed nationally and online in News Ltd Sunday newspapers). She was also a columnist with Sunday Life magazine (Fairfax / 9) for more than a decade and has contributed to various other publications including SMH, Harpers Bazaar, Escape and MiNDFOOD.

Jacinta recently published her fifth book, The Single Mother’s Social Club (Murdoch) – Inspiration and advice on embracing single parenthood. Her other books include Mother Zen (Harlequin) – described a manifesto of modern motherhood – and Some Girls Do … My Life as a Teenager (Allen & Unwin), an anthology of some of Australia’s top female authors writing the true story of their adolescence.

Passionate about social causes, Jacinta is Patron of The Warrior Woman Foundation and an Ambassador for Raise Foundation providing in-school mentoring to high school kids across the country.
