Developed and presented with the Australian Location Managers Guild, learn about all aspects of the locations department, from scouting and securing locations to ensuring on-set safety and managing logistics.

Videomaking Intensive

From pre-production to post, this five-day course unpacks the technical, creative and logistical considerations of making video content. You’ll work with DSLR style video cameras, sound and lighting gear, along with editing tools as you learn operational skills and videomaking principles, while also building interviewing and storytelling skills.

Lighting Intensive
Starts 8 December | In person at AFTRS
Explore the principles of lighting for cinematography and how to shape light for visual storytelling. Led by industry expert Anna Howard ACS, this course covers natural and artificial lighting, filters and modifiers, and cinematic techniques. You’ll gain hands-on experience using professional equipment in AFTRS studios.

Colour Grading Intensive

Learn to enhance screen narratives with consistent and creative looks using DaVinci Resolve, the industry-standard software. Over five days, you’ll develop technical and practical skills in grading footage for film, TV, documentary and more – and get a taste of what it’s like to work as a professional colourist.

Filmmaking Intensive

Take a script from page to screen in this immersive five-day course led by writer-director, Jayden Rathsam Hua. You’ll explore directing, cinematography and post-production through collaborative, hands-on learning in the classroom and on set.

Directing Intensive
