Emilio Andrés Escárate Espinoza is a Chilean-born, Sydney-based composer, arranger, multi-instrumentalist and educator specialising in music for film and audiovisual media. He trained at IP Projazz in Chile from 2016 to 2020, completing a five-year music program with a specialisation in music for film and audiovisual media. As a composer, his credits include the Chilean documentary Derribando Muros, directed by Joan Viáfara, and the 48 Hour Film Project short Infraudencer.
Alongside his screen work, Emilio has maintained an active live practice across Chile and Sydney, including performing as part of the house band at The Off-Beat Jam in 2023 and collaborating with Sydney-based artists and bands such as Aurelius and R.E.D. Experiment. Since 2019, he has taught through private tuition and academy-based roles, and is currently teaching at Learn2Play Music while continuing to develop original work for screen and live performance.
